Loft at UCCA Modern Art Center Beijing

Ullens Center for Contemporary Art is one of the leading contemporary art spaces in China. In addition to the huge gallery space, the center also houses cafes, restaurants, shops and multifunctional halls. Shishang Design and Architecture was commissioned to create the multifunctional room called “The Loft”.

Minimal but bold use of color adds drama to the space, while the library on the second floor becomes a quiet area that can be accessed through sidewalks and stairs, which seem to be coming from everywhere.
